Englewood Pastor Introduces Both Actual Far South Side and Online African American Cultural Center

Rev. Joel Washington (Khunanpu Sangoma) a veteran resident of Englewood's Bethel Terrace Co-Op Senior Apartments on 63rd Parkway, has launched the new actual and online AFRICAN AMERICAN CULTURAL CENTER (AACC) at Reformation Lutheran Church Chicago, ("Young Barack Obama's community organizing sanctuary") 11310 S. Forest Avenue in the historic Roseland/Pullman community on the Far South Side.

According to Pastor Washington (Sangoma), "AACC'S objective is to support, promote, and preserve Black American culture City-wide, regionally, nationally, and internationally both in real time and online."

"Reformation Lutheran's unique journey story about serving as young Barack Obama's community organizing sanctuary from 1985-to-1987 stands as an integral part not only of African American Chicago's history but of the varied and complex tapestry of African American history as a whole" the Black Lutheran clergy person added.

Pastor Washington (Sangoma) further observes "AACC will accomplish its objective by convening, from under the umbrella of Reformation's Pulpit Ministry, a base-community of concerned Metro Chicago women and men dedicated to joining forces with us in building, maintaining and developing the capacity to support, promote, and preserve the best of our distinctive Black American culture."

Accordingly, Rev. Washington (Sangoma) adds, "Although we are inspired by African American cultural centers generally, particularly the new National Museum on African American History and Culture, our basic model is the Us/African American Cultural Center of Los Angeles with its vanguard support organization: Society for Promoting and Preserving African American Culture."

"The LA-based Black Cultural Center that is our model serves under the leadership of Dr. Maulana Karenga (Professor and Chair of Africana Studies, CSULB), Executive Director; Creator of Kwanzaa and the Nguzo Saba; Author, Introduction to Black Studies, 4th Edition and Essays on Struggle: Position and Analysis" says Rev. Washington (Sangoma).

The first floor of Reformation's AACC superstructure consists of its basic membership levels as well as its donation categories. Both can be subscribed to actually but primarily and most conveniently should be supported online.  For more information on how to support Reformation's AACC please go to its web-page at https://afroculturalcenter.wordpress.com
